Pete, not that you have to divulge any personal info on this site, but why were you scared of having a heart attack? Have you had symptoms before? I hope you're healthy for many years to come!"

Thank you for that kind wish.

I think that when you reach my age (55), and you haven't spent a lot of those years engaging in physical exercise and eating in the most healthy manner (common enough traits of those who choose to do a basically sedentary thing like write and draw comics), and you hear stories about relatively young men dropping dead from heart attacks (one of my best friends' fathers went this way at the age of 52), any time you notice your heart doing something different than usual (in this case, pounding like crazy), you get concerned. Couple that with these particular circumstances (off by myself, completely confused direction-wise, etc.) and the concern ramps up.

In an attempt to forestall such an untimely demise, I have for the last six or seven years tried to eat right and exercise regularly, usually every day -- and my discovery of the joys and pleasures of recumbent bicycles really helped in the latter. I'm certainly not athletic, but I think my efforts to get out and exercise in this manner has certainly helped me to some degree, both physically and psychologically. -- PLPLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14615918982616632405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1686991059820767773.post-91613096864051513902009-09-17T21:35:51.823-07:002009-09-17T21:35:51.823-07:00That could have gone south... glad you made it out...That could have gone south... glad you made it out OK!Andrew NDBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08203830103519476192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1686991059820767773.post-3909204782626763142009-09-17T20:25:55.912-07:002009-09-17T20:25:55.912-07:00Yikes!
