During the winter, Jeannine keeps a birdfeeder outside our kitchen window, and it's fun to watch the various hungry winged critters who visit it in search of nourishment. This morning, I spied a somewhat rare visitor...
... a cardinal. Using the zoom lense on a new camera I was trying out, I managed to get a pretty decent shot of it. I like the contrast of the bird's brilliant red plumage againast the stark whiteness of the snow. -- PL

Excellent shot. I can't get a shot that close with the zoom for the birds are just too skittish.
Your probably tired of snow up your way while some of us cheer when it actually sticks and stays.

Thanks! I think it helps that there are window panes between me and the birds... I suspect it gives them a sense of security.

-->> Peter ..
1) How far were you from this bird can you 'spect you were ??
2) You seem to excel at this 'photography' thing .. not just as photographer , but in post with your ability to edit and stitch near flawlessness.
Have you thought of marketing yourself in such a venue ??
Or have you already ??

I was standing in our kitchen, shooting through the window, and I think I was about seven or eight feet away from the bird.

Thank you for your kind words, but I think of my photography as a fun thing and don't consider myself as excelling at it. Occasionally I get lucky with a shot. I've never really thought about marketing it.
And I have to give "Panorama Maker 4" a lot of the credit for making the stitched-together photos work well -- it's a great piece of software. -- PL
