Another entry in the "You Can't Make This Stuff Up" Dept.

From the Huffington Post Science page:
Congressman Paul Broun (R-Ga.) said last week that evolution and the big bang theory are "lies straight from the pit of Hell."
"God's word is true. I've come to understand that. All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the big bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell," said Broun, who is an MD. "It's lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior."
And this idiot is "a high-ranking member of the House Science Committee". Brrrr... -- PL

Do you know who else is on the House Science Committee? Rep. Todd Akin. You know the "If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down” guy. (Bangs head against desk!) I’ve also heard an interview with Representative John Shimku, A Republican congressman hoping to chair the powerful House Energy Committee, say we should not be concerned with Climate Change. He said that God promised Noah he would not wipe us out again after the great flood. “'The earth will end only when God declares its time to be over. Man will not destroy this earth. This earth will not be destroyed by a flood.” Really, he said that! I could not make this stuff up!

Are you kidding me? What happened to the Republican Party? Why have they decided to ignore science? I can’t help but to get frustrated when I hear politicians ignore clear science for the sake of there own religious beliefs. I find it to be ignorance at best!
Grrr….

Hi Peter,

This comment is a off-base to this post but I was wondering if you had a chance to see the new Ninja Turtles cartoon show on Nickelodeon? If you have it'd be great to read some of your thoughts and impressions.
