I did this one, a portrait of the artist Georgia O'Keefe, back in 1979, when I was seriously into the stipple technique. I was inspired by seeing a fantastic photograph of her face -- there was so much character in it. I based this drawing on that photo. -- PL

WOW! That is crazy detailed, I thought it was a photo, awesome job.
I've always loved that piece- nice one, Pete.
AMAZING, you art is very very amazing and inspiring, and that goes beyond the turtle universe Peter. Thanks for sharing this!
I hope it wasn't based on an AP photo! Maybe Shepard Fairey can offer you some legal advice ;)
Holy cow! I'm with Dripgutz... I thought this was a photo when I first glanced at your post. Incredible amount of details!
-->> yeh just .. geez
This shows why you and Eastman became huge! Thanks so much for sharing this Pete - great work!
Oh, neat! A portrait of one of my favorite artists. I'm currently reading a book about her work. Nicely done.
Nice work Pete.
Did you ever do any of the turtles using those techniques, and other than this particular portrait, what else have you done in this kind of style?

Hmmm... I'm pretty sure I've never drawn the Turtles with this technique, but maybe I should try it.
I have done other portraits, as well as a number of illustrations (mostly vegetables) for the Northampton newspaper I worked for years ago. And there have been a few other drawings here and there that I've stippled. -- PL
I definitely encourage you to try the technique out on some of the characters of the mirageverse! BTW - haven't heard any news about issue 30 of TMNT in a while, anything to report on?
