Parker and Louis

I don't intend to turn this into "DogBlog", but there was enough positive reaction to my earlier post about little puppy Parker for me to want to follow up with one of my favorite photos:

For those of you who wanted to see what Parker looks like now, here he is. The little white blob is also my daughter's dog -- a Maltese which she named Louis. In this photo, Louis has only been with us for about a week, and already he is boldly playing with Parker, who is about five times as big as he is. I have to give props to Parker for being very patient with the little beast.

One of the reasons I like this photo is that it kind of looks like Louis is whispering something into Parker's ear -- something surprising, to judge by Parker's reaction! -- PL

That little pup turned into that huge adorable doggie!! He's awesome! Reminds me of my dog Marlo back in high school! She had the same colors. He looks like a real champ, being tolerant of Louis.
We have this one dog, well, he was the bus yard dog- Crown; he's the type who didn't care what you did to him. You could pull a bone from his mouth and he wouldn't care. When my nephew was a baby, Crown didn't care if he climbed all over him! He's like the sweetest dog I've ever known. He's at least 15 now, real sweet old boy.

oh wow cute puppy Parker turned into a very pretty long haired dog...From that pic it looks like those two had been together for years. Parker does look like he is listening to Louis.

Aww, Parker turned into a beautiful (and big!) doggie! Louis is a hoot, too! Do you still have Mikey, the gray tabby? ;)

Yes, Louis is a "hoot", all right. He's a loveable dog -- I just wish his bark wasn't so shrill and piercing (not my favorite thing to hear when I'm trying to sleep).

And yes, we still have Mikey (aka "The Evil One"). -- PL

Well, as I mentioned earlier, Parker's name came from "Peter Parker", Spider-Man's alter ego (my daughter was/is a huge fan of the first Spider-Man movie). Louis came from one of my daughter's favorite designers, Louis Vuitton. My daughter's first dog, sadly no longer with us, was a yellow Labrador named Daphne, after one of the characters on "Scooby Doo", a show my daughter used to love to watch on Cartoon Network. -- PL

I love stories how pets get their names.
Crown was named after a specific brand of school bus.

Marlo was named after the dog in Simon & Simon, Rick Simon's big ol mutt.

Gramma's old cat Jackson, who passed away 2 yrs ago - Bo Jackson.

My turtles Don and Raph are obvious. Jessie named after Jessie in Toy Story... baby turtles Herbie named after The Love Bug, Steve after the croc hunter..

yeah I'm rambling...

*quietly walks out ...* :P
