Given how many thick-headed "journalists" read (and maybe "read" is too generous a word) my recent post about Michael Bay possibly turning the Turtles into aliens in the upcoming live-action movie and somehow got out of it that I supported this idea, clearly not perceiving the sarcasm in my words, I've been pondering the potential benefits of creating a "sarcasm symbol" -- a graphic icon which could be appended to a piece of writing or artwork to help the "perception-challenged" among us in apprehending the real meaning of said writing or artwork.
I started doodling in my sketchbook yesterday, and here's what I've got so far:
As noted, I like the "S" form with the devil horns and forked tail. I think I will keep working on this and try to get it into a nice, clean, black and white design.

It's pretty pathetic that anyone who read your statement on that wasn't able to see the glaring sarcasm, especially in your closing paragraph:

Where you even put the word "genius" in quotes, and extra emphasis on that there could be a whole PLANET of TMNT...if anyone couldn't pick up on the overt sarcasm, they probably don't deserve to have it pointed out to them, since it was already lost on them. Though if you don't beat them over the head with it, you'll likely continue to be misrepresented in whatever articles spew forth that use your comments as source material.
I'm sure you already know that I've been a lifelong TMNT fan, so much so that I recently even broke the bank on a first print of #1. Still, I definitely recommend the "chill pill" stance to the fans, or more maybe accurately just acceptance. The day the sale to Nick was announced, I pretty much accepted that TMNT would no longer be what it was for me, and that's okay! This generation will get whatever incarnation Nick chooses to brew up for them, and I'll always have the first 25 years worth of comics, movies, cartoons, and toys to enjoy.
Michael Bay isn't exactly known for adhering to canon when it comes to his takes on well-established properties, and so I'd say it's safe to assume it will be the case here as well. With the Hollywood idea well long run dry, it's really only an inevitability that the things many of us grew up enjoying reappear in some strange new fashion, there is even a new Three Stooges film coming out soon, for cryin out loud!
Oh and for the record I always thought the fifth turtles name should be "Rembrandt". (insert S with devil horns here)
I dig the one in the center top row. It's very sharp and edgy. It looks like a weapon. You put "Dumbass Reporters" under labels. That's funny! You know whats cool about you Pete? You don't bulls@*t or play pretend. That seems to be a rare quality these days. Plus, I happen to like your witty sarcasm!

I like the one that looks like a dragon. Reminds me of the TMNT's avatars in the Ninja Tribunal series... also not cannon to your original ideas I know, but at least they were from our planet still... :-p
Journalists are known for twisting words, for misquotes and just plain getting it wrong. Sounds like M. Bay might end up doing the same thing... *sigh*
As a fan, I'm not chilling (I was actually more offended that he'd tell an entire fan base to "chill" than by his original stupidity), but neither am I getting my knickers in a knot. As Adam said, there will be 25 years' worth of untouched TMNT awesomeness to enjoy, no matter what Viacom does. If the movie turns out to be decently made, well that will just be an added bonus to an already rich franchise. I'm not holding my breath, but I once heard someone very wise say, "Where there is life, there is hope."
