Awesome! (In the truest definition of the word.) I can not wait to see what discoveries this new rover has in store for us. It is truly impressive the things technology allows us to do!
A few weeks ago they also found the elusive Higgs Boson particle at CERN! What an exciting time for science!
My ten year old asked me what the Higgs Boson particle was. After trying to explain something so complex that I can barely wrap my mind around it, I simply told him that, "It's the force." "It is what binds the Universe together." Was that so far from the truth?
Have a good one,

Did you happen to see this live? The scientists were going nuts! I only wish I had a job that rewarding. Though, I guess if the rover had been lost, you'd have seen a room full of scientists wailing and gnashing their teeth.

Hey Pete,
Check this out! I thought this was pretty neat. It is a rotating panorama released by NASA last month. It was put together using 817 images taken between Dec. 21, 2011, and May 8, 2012, by NASA's Opportunity rover. You can rotate the picture using cursor.
Thought you might get a kick out of it. It is pretty cool.

Mark, that is very cool. I like that you can pan up and down as well as back and forth... AND zoom in on the image. I love the tire tracks! -- PL
