I ran into Eric Talbot at Mirage yesterday, and while chatting with him he reminded me of this drawing which I had kind of forgotten about. He promised to send it to me so I could blog about it, and here it is. Thanks, Eric!
I had drawn this at a comic convention back in 1987, and Eric liked it a lot, so I gave it to him. Sometime thereafter, he added the colors and tones to it, which I think improved it substantially. -- PL

The face-hugger laid the egg, but the baby Alien just couldn't break through the Bat-Symbol on Batman's chest. So the Alien just ate Bruce from the inside out, which resulted in the amazing amalgamation of species shown here.
Very cool. :)
One of these days we'll get a good Batman/Turtles Crossover. Heck, I think there was even a Thundercats/Superman (I think it was) cross-over at one point :)
This is completely freaky. I like to think that Bruce was just too tough to absorb completely, so the alien became him (or he becam the alien). Still fighting crime, just the badguys don't get off so easy anymore....yuck.

You are in fact correct Neil! I never actualy read it myself but on the website head injury theatre, Jared wrote an article on several weird superman crossovers, and this was one of them. Pretty funny stuff:

Wow!
Flippin' Awesome!!!
Hi Peter, sorry to take this off topic, but in the interview you gave at MTV you said:
"I would say that I am 95-percent happy with it. I think Kevin Munroe accomplished pretty much everything he set out to do, and told the story that we had come up with very well. The animation was just beautiful, and I have to commend, once more, all the people who worked to make it so. There are a few things I would have changed, and there were a few bits that got left out that I think could have made it better"
I was wondering if you could eloborate on the things you would have changed and what was left out of the final cut of the movie?
Is there any chance of seeing the original script you and Monroe came up with for the movie?
Wow, looking at that, I never would have guessed that this came from you, Mr. Laird. Pretty cool piece of work though.
That's so wicked but I really can't see you in this art at all it's like Eric took it and made it his own, still cool because I love both of your styles.

Just to be completely clear about this, I penciled AND inked this drawing before Eric applied the greys and the bits of color. -- PL
Wow that's crazy Pete!
I would have never known maybe it's perhaps because I'm so used to seeing you do thicker inking.
I really like both ways, but oddly enough it reminds me more of something from Eric than you that's why it fooled, how odd indeed.

You guys work great together. I love your non-TMNT stuff. Luckily the alien is wearing a mask, that way no one will know who Batman really is.
